Meet the Board
Ginger Mitchell, Chair: Ginger holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Northern Illinois University with graduate studies at Pepperdine University. She has over 30 years of experience in human resources management with large corporations and global consulting firms, and also managed her own consulting business for the past 15 years. She is currently semi-retired and actively engaged in volunteer work for a variety of organizations throughout the Grand Valley. Ginger and her husband, Bill, moved to Grand Junction in 2006 and enjoy camping, hiking, 4-wheeling, golf, rock-hounding, and other outdoor activities.
Cindy Fry, Vice Chair: Cindy is a native and fourth generation resident of the Grand Valley. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Colorado Christian University. She works for the S.M. Stoller Corporation as a communication specialist and graphic designer. She is active in the community and is a member of the Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O.). Cindy and her husband, Glen, raised two children, Jim and Jacque, and she enjoys hiking, photography, and graphic design.
Mark Green, Treasurer: Mark has lived in Colorado for most of his life and moved from the Front Range to Grand Junction 15 years ago. A graduate of CSU, Mark has worked as a CPA and in private industry, and he is currently the Director of Finance at C5 Medical Werks, an affiliate of CoorsTek. He brings over 25 years of valuable finance, management, and administrative experience to CNMA. Mark has served on a variety of other boards, and was previously the treasurer for Catholic Outreach. Mark and his wife Cathy have been married for 24 years and have two sons, FMHS graduates Nick and Ben, and 2 Old English sheep dogs. Mark an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoys hiking, camping, bicycling, skiing, and wood working.
Ginny McBride, Secretary: Ginny served as executive director for the Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance in Washington, D.C. until her move to Western Colorado in September 2010. As a result of a national initiative she helped lead, more than 25,000 additional organ transplants occurred in the U.S. over a 5-year period. Ginny, a native of Philadelphia, and her husband, Andrew, a native of Dublin, Ireland, were drawn to Western Colorado after they vacationed in the West. She says, “Andrew and I were drawn to Western Colorado because of the beautiful landscape and wide-open spaces. Being able to enjoy the wonderful hiking trails and scenery, and having the opportunity to appreciate the role the parks play in conservation and education make the national parks our favorite destinations.” Ginny believes living next to the Colorado National Monument is the privilege of a lifetime but also a reminder that we are the stewards who will convey the Monument to future generations.
Lauren Goodknight, Member: Lauren has lived in the Grand Valley since September 1979, and has worked for several contractors at the U.S. Department of Energy compound since 1980. She is a hydrogeologist for the S.M. Stoller Corporation in the Legacy Management Program. She has been co-chair of Stoller’s United Way Pacesetter campaign for seven years, and is past president of Stoller’s Employees’ Association and Employee Safety Committee. She is also past president of the Horizon Mixed bowling league. She and her husband, Craig, a geologist, have been members of the CNMA for many years and have hiked most of the trails in the Monument. They also enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, backpacking in the high country, and international travel. They have three daughters and two sons, and three granddaughters and two grandsons.
Dan Flenniken, Member: Dan teaches public relations, advertising and broadcast production classes at Colorado Mesa University and is currently program director for Mass Communication. He previously taught Media Technology at the WCCC Bishop Campus. He has over 25 years experience in production and management for television stations and networks including Rocky Mountain PBS. Flenniken won an Emmy for educational television production in 2002. Dan and his wife Chris have lived in Grand Junction for 12 years. They have three sons (two in Grand Junction), a dog named “Millie” and a cat named “Alley” (who rules the entire family).
Jack Connolly, Ex Officio Member: Jack has lived in the Grand Valley for over 35 years. He is the President of Connolly Financial Group, holds an MBA, and is a Certified Financial Planner. Jack is married to Anne Hollingsworth Connolly; they raised four children and the entire family loves the Colorado National Monument. Jack has served on numerous boards in our community over the years, including two terms as a member of the District # 51 Board of Education and six years on the Hilltop Health Services Corporation Board of Directors. Jack enjoys golf, skiing and following Formula 1 automobile racing.
