Lace Stevens, Executive Director:  Lace began her career with the CNMA in 2004 after a trip to Yellowstone inspired her to volunteer for the National Park Service. Since moving to the area in 2000, her love of “The West” has only grown as she and her husband explore the wonders of this incredible region. A flat-lander from the South, Lace never forgets to take in the sights and enjoy the bright blue skies, the hundred mile views, and the spectacular landscapes. Now that this former educator has gone from being a volunteer, to a part-time seasonal employee, to the director of the CNMA, Lace still enjoys sharing her love of the Monument with visitors from all over the world. She currently resides in Grand Junction, and enjoys visits from her two Cajun sons.

Denise Hight, Operations Manager: Although her family has long roots in the Grand Valley, before settling here in 1985, Denise led a mobile life, residing in places as near as Denver and as far as the United Kingdom, where she lived for eleven years and studied English history. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English, and her passions include history and writing. Denise and her husband, Steve, live in Fruita in a house filled with books and antiques. Denise has one daughter, Stephanie, and a recycled dog, Sebastian. She serves on the Fruita Historic Preservation Board and is co-author of a book about Fruita’s history.
