Colorado National Monument Association to Host Conference in Fruita
The Colorado National Monument Association (CNMA) is hosting the spring 2017 conference for the Peaks, Plateaus, and Canyons Associations (PPCA) on March 1 and 2 at the Fruita Community Center. The PPCA is a group of the national parks and other public lands partners in the southwest that work together to promote understanding and stewardship of our national parks, monuments, forests, and other public lands. There will be approximately 40 representatives from national parks including Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce, Zion, Mesa Verde, Dinosaur, Capitol Reef, Petrified Forest, Glen Canyon, Colorado National Monument, and many more.
The two day conference is an opportunity for partners and employees of national parks on the Colorado Plateau to network and attend training sessions together. The PPCA meets twice per year at different national parks. Although the CNMA hosted the conference a few years ago in Grand Junction, this is the first time the group will meet in Fruita. The meeting will be held in the Community Center and meals will be eaten at Fruita restaurants so the attendees will be able to experience some of the many amenities that Fruita has to offer.
They devote their careers to preserving and protecting our public lands; let’s make them feel welcome in our community and show them what Fruita has to offer. If you or your local business has menus, discount cards, rack cards, area information, giveaways, or just well-wishes that we can include in information packets for our participants, please contact Denise Hight or Michael Paxson. We are also looking for gifts to put in a gift basket that will be won by one of our lucky attendees.
