Colorado National Monument is beautiful in all seasons and we want to make sure that all who visit here stay safe. Here are some good safety tips to follow:
- Wear sunscreen, even in Winter.
- Bring a hat.
- Drink water – lots of it! Come prepared with reusable water bottles and/or camelbaks. There are bottle filling stations, and reusable water bottles for sale, but bottled water is not sold at the visitor center.
- Insect repellent – the gnats can be fierce from May to August.
- Sturdy shoes are important if you plan to do any hiking. Trails can be sandy in the summer and snowy & icy in the winter. Call us at the visitor center (970.858.3617 ext. 360) for current conditions.
